The State Border Guard Service reported how many buses cross the border in the western direction 21.06.2026 03:09 Ukrinform The Border Guard Service continues to record an increase in passenger traffic – on average, 550 buses travel westward daily.
This was announced on television by the spokesperson for the State Border Guard Service, Andriy Demchenko, as reported by a Ukrinform correspondent.
“There is an electronic queue for bus services, and most crossing points have time slots, meaning there is a specific hour when a bus is supposed to arrive. Queues at the border are forming due to an increase in passengers. If in the spring months, an average of about 350 buses were recorded leaving Ukraine per day, then with the onset of summer, we now have an average of 550. And sometimes it’s even more,” said Demchenko.
Regarding passenger cars, border guards are also recording record figures. In particular, on weekends, passenger traffic reaches 130,000 crossings per day.
“If we compare again with spring, then this figure was around 85,000 crossings. At the beginning of summer, passenger traffic increased to 95,000, and last week we recorded 106,000 crossings on weekdays and 130,000 on weekends,” said the SBGS spokesperson.
Currently, queues are forming at the borders with Poland, Romania, Slovakia, and Hungary. Peak hours are in the evening and during weekends.
As reported, the SBGS predicts that the ratio of entry and exit at the border will even out to 50/50 by July, as some people will begin to return from abroad, and in August, most passengers will be entering Ukraine.
