Ukrainian forces hit defense industry enterprise and several oil facilities in Moscow Oblast 17.05.2026 14:31 Ukrinform Specialists from the Center for Special Operations “Alpha” of the Security Service of Ukraine, in conjunction with other units of the Defense Forces, carried out strikes on a number of targets in the Moscow region of the Russian Federation and in temporarily occupied Crimea.
Ukrinform reports this, citing the SBU.
In Moscow Oblast, the “Angstrem” plant, which supplies semiconductors for the aggressor country’s military-industrial complex and is under US sanctions, was hit. Also targeted were the Moscow Oil Refinery and the “Solnechnogorsk” and “Volodarsky” oil pumping stations.
In temporarily occupied Crimea, targets of military infrastructure and air defense systems at the “Belbek” military airfield were struck, including:
- the “Pantsir-S2” anti-aircraft complex;
- a hangar with a radar for the S-400 complex;
- the “Orion” drone control system and the “Forpost” UAV ground control station;
- a “ground-to-air” data transmission point;
- a control tower and a hangar.
These strikes were carried out in fulfillment of tasks set by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Head of the SBU, Yevheniy Hmara, emphasized that such special operations are crucial for weakening Russia’s military potential.
“Strikes on defense industry enterprises, military infrastructure, and oil logistics reduce the enemy’s ability to continue the war against Ukraine. These attacks demonstrate that even the most heavily defended Moscow region is not safe,” he stated.
Hmara assured that high-precision special operations aimed at destroying the enemy’s military resources will continue.
As Ukrinform reported, on May 17, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that “Ukrainian long-range sanctions have reached the Moscow region.”
