This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Andrii Sybiha, during a conversation with journalists following his participation in the Antalya Security Forum, as reported by a Ukrinform correspondent.
“Ukraine is present, Ukraine is in focus at such an important diplomatic forum as Antalya. We have a clear definition of Ukraine’s new role as a security contributor, as a necessary partner for many countries to strengthen their security. And this is already a reality, and now it is important to consolidate and develop it. Ukraine has become a security partner,” noted Sybiha.
The minister emphasized the efforts being made to prevent Russia from gaining additional profits due to rising energy prices, exploiting the situation for destabilization in the Middle East to ease sanctions, diverting attention from the war, and failing to achieve its goal of increasing tension in the region.
“I am here today to use every opportunity, meeting, and speech to bring closer a just and sustainable peace. We have allies, we are forming additional alliances. This is precisely why such platforms are needed to consolidate and develop all of this,” stressed Sybiha.
According to him, the focus in the priority meetings was on countries of the Global South and Africa – more than 10 meetings were held within the framework of the forum.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine highlighted Turkey’s role in the region and the development of strategic cooperation with Ukraine.
“Turkey is a strategic, extremely important partner for us. We share common security challenges, particularly in the Black Sea. We have immense prospects in the energy sector. We have prospects from the earth to space. We are countries that do not compete but complement each other,” said Sybiha.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine also noted the importance of the participation of the delegation of the Crimean Tatar people, led by leader Mustafa Dzhemilev and head of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Refat Chubarov, in the forum.
As Ukrinform reported, the 5th Antalya Diplomacy Forum is being held in Turkey under the slogan “Shaping the Future, Managing Uncertainty.” Ukraine is represented at the event by Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrii Sybiha.
