In Kyiv, the presentation of the inclusive cultural and artistic project “Circle of the Unbroken” took place – a series of art therapy television programs for the mental recovery of Ukrainian soldiers and children.

“I am truly proud that we have the honor to support such a project. This is true. It is very pleasant when you support many projects, but special satisfaction comes from seeing their results afterward. This is a project that we support within the framework of the program “Societal Resilience through Culture.” And when we see this combination of different statuses – civilians, military personnel, veterans, the combination of different generations, adults and children, it is simply an inclusivity without boundaries,” noted the executive director of the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation, Anastasia Obraztsova.
Lesya Khemraeva, head of the department for barrier-free policy, gender equality, and mental health of the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine, expressed hope that this initiative will spread further, because “only by uniting, we are not just unbroken, but also extraordinary people who confidently move towards their dreams, towards their goal, and towards their victory.”
“I want to thank the parents and our defenders. Thanks to all the efforts, children’s dreams come to life. I thank the organization for your powerful energy, which has been supporting a very large number of people over the years. For this synergy to multiply, but most of all, for children’s dreams to come true despite everything,” emphasized Khemraeva.
Lesya Petrivska, Commissioner of the Kyiv City Council for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, stressed that this project is not only about art but also about human strength, about their ability to find the resource to live, create, dream, and inspire others even after the most severe trials.
“War leaves behind not only visible destruction; war leaves pain, experiences, losses that are often impossible to see. And that is why mental recovery is no less important than physical rehabilitation. And art is one of the most powerful ways that helps a person find themselves again,” noted Petrivska.
The core of the project consists of trauma-informed artistic practices that combine art therapy, audiovisual art, and the direct participation of people with disabilities in the creation of cultural products on equal terms. 40 children and 20 Ukrainian soldiers from more than 20 settlements in Ukraine joined the project. They not only participated in creative workshops but also became TV presenters and main characters of the series of art therapy television programs.
During the presentation, 10 television programs with Ukrainian sign language translation, an exhibition of the participants’ creative works, and the official project trailer were presented for the first time. The created cultural products will be distributed through the media space (media, television, and the Internet) and will be shown during public screenings at public presentation events in the capital’s cultural clusters and cinemas.
The project aims to support mental health, develop a barrier-free environment, social cohesion, and the integration of people affected by the war into Ukraine’s cultural life.
The initiative is implemented with the support of the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation within the framework of the competitive program “Societal Resilience through Culture.”
As reported, an inclusive art project “First Blog” for children with hearing impairments was presented in Kyiv.
