Zelenskyy: Ukraine is ready for meetings, but Russia must take a step towards peace Address 06/26/2026 20:10 Ukrinform Ukraine has stated its readiness for potential leader-level meetings and discussions on ending the war, but Russia must also make a move towards this goal.
This was announced by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy in his evening video address, reports Ukrinform.
“Ukrainian soldiers prove the power of Ukrainian accuracy every day. Ukraine’s long-range sanctions, medium-range sanctions are being fully implemented. These are our just responses to Russia for this war – a war that Russia started and that Russia must end,” he noted.
The head of state stated that Russia must take the war away from Ukraine – “we do not need war.”
“Ukraine has made proposals to key partners, and Putin’s friends have heard from us that a meeting is possible, and the end of this war is possible. Russia needs to take this step towards peace,” Zelenskyy emphasized.
The President expressed gratitude to everyone who, alongside the state, is pushing Russia towards diplomacy and helping to defend Ukraine, to protect human life.
As Ukrinform reported, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy approved a 40-day influence operation for the Security Service of Ukraine targeting the Russian Federation to encourage the cessation of the war.
